2011 INDIANA COMPANIES TO WATCH HONOREES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DATE: July 13, 2011

Contact Information: Jay Adams, President, contact: jaya@maddenco.com

MaddenCo, Inc. Honored as One of the 2011 Indiana Companies to Watch

(Evansville, IN) – MaddenCo, Inc. has been recognized as one of the 2011 Indiana Companies to Watch, an awards program presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, its Small Business Development Center network, Purdue University and the Edward Lowe Foundation.

Forty-three companies from Indiana will be honored as outstanding second-stage companies during the fourth annual Indiana Companies to Watch awards program, held on Aug. 25 in Indianapolis.

Companies to Watch is an awards program that celebrates Indiana’s privately held second-stage companies, typically those businesses that are past the startup phase, are considered to be established, and face issues of growth, not survival.

Companies honored range in industries and have headquarters based in 19 counties throughout the state. Among the 43 honored companies in 2011 is MaddenCo.

About MaddenCo

MaddenCo provides fully integrated point-of-sale and accounting software solutions for the independent tire dealer and truck stop service center industries. For more information on MaddenCo and its Tire Dealer System, visit www.maddenco.com.  MaddenCo’s Tire Dealer System software is used in nearly 1,700 tire locations in the United States and Canada.

About Indiana Companies to Watch
Companies to Watch firms must employ between six and 150 full-time equivalent employees, have between $750,000 and $100 million in annual revenue or working capital in place, and demonstrate the intent and capacity to grow based on employee or sales growth, exceptional entrepreneurial leadership, sustainable competitive advantage or other notable strengths.

This year more than 300 Indiana companies were nominated and 213 companies submitted applications for the Companies to Watch program. From that pool, 111 finalists were selected, and 43 companies emerged to become the 2011 class of Indiana Companies to Watch.

This awards program is unique because of its focus on second-stage companies. The impact of these companies on Indiana’s economy is immense. During 2006-2008 Indiana’s resident companies averaged more than 33,000 second-stage establishments according to YourEconomy.org, an online resource of the Edward Lowe Foundation. Those second-stage companies employed more than 784,000 workers.

Looking at the contributions of these companies from a different perspective, from 2006-2008 only 9.5 percent of Indiana’s resident establishments were in the second-stage category, however, they generated 37 percent of net new jobs.

Indiana Companies to Watch is a collaboration among the Indiana Economic Development Corp., through its Small Business Development Center Network, Purdue University and the Edward Lowe Foundation.

MaddenCo Sees Huge Response With New Graphical Software Application 12/17/2009

MaddenCo's new graphical software application has been a hit with its customers, according to company officials. "Two months ago at our Users' Meeting, we introduced our new graphical 'point-and-click' software application. We expected to see a dozen or so customers test the graphical application before year-end. To date, we have 33 customers using the application, with several more requests currently being processed. The response has exceeded our expectations," says Jay Adams, President of MaddenCo. The new application offers users the opportunity to use MaddenCo's Tire Dealer System software in a 'point-and-click', mouse driven environment, rather than, or in addition to, the traditional keyboard environment. "The MaddenCo dealer's ability to decide at the individual workstation level how to deploy the software has been instrumental in increased interest in our product, both from existing and prospective customers. The dealer can look at both our graphical and green screen applications and decide at the local workstation level which application of the software to use. Tire dealers like having choices, and we are pleased that we can offer this one," says Mr. Adams.

MaddenCo Unveils New Graphical Software Application To Record-Setting Users' Meeting Crowd 10/20/2009

In front of approximately 140 attendees representing nearly 900 tire locations, MaddenCo CEO Kim Angermeier unveiled MaddenCo's new graphical 'point-and-click' software application for its Tire Dealer System at its Users' Meeting held last week in Evansville, Indiana. The new application offers MaddenCo users the opportunity to use the software in a 'point-and-click', mouse driven environment, rather than, or in addition to, the traditional keyboard environment. The new application has already been implemented in MaddenCo's three latest Tire Dealer System installations, as well as in many truck stop service centers already using the MaddenCo software. With MaddenCo customers aware of the unveiling at the Users' Meeting, the audience was 25% larger than any prior MaddenCo meeting on record. "The MaddenCo dealer can now decide at the individual workstation level how to deploy the Tire Dealer System software. For instance, a retail dealer might find it important to have a graphical software presentation at the counter in order to provide an at-the-counter environment that is more familiar to the customer and the service writer. However, that same dealer might have a wholesale division where use of a mouse and 'point-and-click' slows down the sales process, and having keyboard speed and functionality without a mouse is more critical to completing the transaction as quickly as possible. MaddenCo now offers a solution for both of these requirements for the same dealer. The dealer can look at both and decide at the local workstation level which application of the software to use," says Jay Adams, President of MaddenCo. This information and much more about the graphical application was provided by Mr. Adams during customer question-and-answer sessions at the Users' Meeting.

"After listening to our customers' desires to monitor their emergency road service work in a more efficient manner, we set out to create an effective auditing tool to do just that, and we have done it. As part of this process, Double Coin dealers using the MaddenCo Tire Dealer System will send delivery receipts to Double Coin through traditional Point-of-Sale processing, just as if the dealer was performing any other national account delivery receipt in the Tire Dealer System. MaddenCo also introduced a Loyalty Points Program through its Point-of-Sale application, whereby users can create their own loyalty or rebate programs for customers based on customer purchases. Also introduced was a new Associate Dealer Billing Program enhancement, which allows a user to act like a national account vendor to its associate dealers. With this feature, a user can electronically send accounts payable credits back to associate dealers for servicing the user's customers. This concept is similar to MaddenCo's national account processing with Bandag, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Michelin and Yokohama.
